Hinduism And Animal Rights-My Views! : According to the Holy Bhagavad Gita, it is considered a sin to eat meat. It's not even about religion it's cruel fullstop!! But still these preachings have indeed stood the test of time; The "Mad cow" disease affecting "beef" eaters and now the "Avian flu" which may be a threat to chicken-eaters. As a matter of fact, a strain of bird flu found in Turkey has been identified as the same deadly type that hit Asia (European Commission said on Thursday) .Why should we still rely on slaughtering of other species to feed ourselves, why cant we choose better alternatives as recommended by Lord Krishna.
I converted all my thoughts to Hinduism because it has made me a better person. When i walk on the floor i make sure i don't step on sum insect by mistake, when my little brother offers my a sweet i check if its vegetarian and so on. I don't do it to please god.. or because i want to go heaven i do it because its moral and i don't want to hurt any living thing. I love Hinduism and would even die 4 what i believe in. Nobody preached me about it but i chose it myself. because there are soo many Different gods it really made me think about the amazing philosophy behind each God.Hinduism has taught me that we should look after animals along with alot of other things. Lord Krisha used 2 sweep the floor when he used to walk so he wouldn't step on any insect and i thought that is so amazing. For example the cow gives the whole world so many dairy products and does alot for humans therefore it teaches 2 give importance to animals instead of killing/eating them for their flesh. It is so peaceful and i love it.So it doesn't mean we don't know what we are talking about, we just think alot of animals and i guess it has made me a caring person.it also encourages vegetarianism and looking after animals :). and love is looking after every1 even if it may b sum animal? the animal still has a heart and i think of animals as my my brothers and sisters.Many people think Hindus worship idols, that's not right. the idol is there just to create a mental picture in our head but at the end of the day there is only 1 supreme God and we are all equal and worship 1 GOD.so for those who don't know anything about Hinduism it's better not to judge a book by it's cover :). so keep on spreading the love and love every1. i am not religious but i just had to include this in my profile because i don't like it when people say 'oh they worship idols, and so on' :) Anyway i am not claiming to be perfect..i don't do everything im supposed 2 do.i have a few handbags which have a bit of leather on them. but yeah.. i will get there 1 day. Here is a poem for all those poor helpless animals who get killed for their flesh and fur. R.I.P my poor babies! im so sorry the human race is so cruel. i love you! Does anyone know why it rains? Perhaps it's God crying in pain For His creatures who die when humans? eat their flesh !! Could it be that the Heavens are blue For the bad things that some people do? Can't you hear a sigh?... Imagine a baby deer born Away from its' mother it's torn When man shoots his gun! He kills all the creatures he sees Plunders earth and cuts down her trees No wonder animals RUN!... Whether gold or it is fur that he wants It is all the earth that he haunts There is no hiding place! Nothing can get in his way He will hunt it both night and day It's a flaw in his race!... God gave all these gifts to mankind.. When they are gone No more will he find.. We must save our earth! The air, the sea, and the land And all of the creatures which stand God gave them great worth!
